An action-packed week of Trampoline, Double Mini-Trampoline and Tumbling concluded in the Spanish city of Pamplona as they hosted the 2025 World Championships, held in the Navarra Arena from 5 to 9 November.
And what a great week it was for our European federations! Maelie Abadie, Candy Brière-Vetillard, Maelle Dumitru-Marin and Manon Morancais started the gold rush as they clinched the tumbling team victory for France. Joining them on the podium were the teams from Great Britain in silver and Belgium in bronze. Azerbaijan, featuring Mikhail Malkin, Tofiq Aliyev, Adil Hajizada and Bilal Gurbanov, followed suit, excelling in the men’s tumbling team final to retain their World title, ahead of the USA and Denmark. Also individually the European tumbling athletes shone bright. In the women’s final Arina Kaliandra (AIN) edged past Candy Brière-Vetillard (FRA) and Lani Spiessens (BEL) while reigning European Champion Magnus Lindholmer earned the silver for Denmark ahead of his teammate Martin Abildgaard.
In Double Mini-Trampoline, all eyes were on Spanish superstar Melania Rodriguez. After leading her team to bronze behind the USA and Great Britain, the 24-year-old local hero successfully defended her World title, acing a triple pick she hadn’t done in a while, for a whopping 8.1 difficulty. This have Rodriguez the edge over Galina Begim (AIN) and Kirsty Way (GBR).
More British success came from their women’s synchro pair Izzy Songhurst and Bryony Page. The 2023 bronze medallists stepped up their game, improving to the silver medal this time.
The ‘Individual Neutral Athletes’ from Russia and Belarus made their return to competition, excelling especially in Trampoline, where Katsiaryna Yarshova and Stanislau Yaskevich wrote history by clinching the first ever Mixed Synchro World title ahead of Japan and the brother-sister duo Seljan Mahsudova and Magsud Mahsudov representing Azerbaijan.
The event ended with the Team all-around final that combines all disciplines. With 5 nations going head-to-head, the tension built throughout the session. In a nail-biting ending China took the crown, narrowly holding off a strong challenge by AIN-2 with Great Britain finishing their Worlds with the bronze medal.
