The European Men Championships started with the junior qualifications in an incredible atmosphere with a high level and with a great suspense that suggests the best for the rest of the week.
The men's European Championships began with the juniors qualifications.
Great Britain came to the competition to win its fourth consecutive team junior title, and that's exactly what they did. They consistently showed difficult and well-executed routines. Only in the last rotation they counted 2 falls but they had already built up enough lead to never be threatened. Russia was second. They were strongest on pommel horse and rings. Floor and high bar gave them some problems. Battle for the bronze was between France and Switzerland. Both had a bad round on pommel horse but did very well on the other events. Italy was 5th with vault being there best event. The biggest surprise was a strong Israeli team, that placed 6th. Germany and Ukraine didn't do as expected, placing 9th and 10th.
Subdivision 1 features gymnasts from Romania, Poland, Iceland, Serbia, Greece, Slovenia, Austria, Georgia, Slovakia and Sweden.
