The title “European Junior All-Round Champion” is up for grab in today’s competition.
... The 24 best gymnasts from Wednesday’s qualifications are judged on the 6 apparatus and the total score of the 6 apparatus will count.
All top qualifiers made mistakes, most notably Russia's Kirill Potapov who qualified in second place. He fell on his parallel bars dismount and fell twice from the high bar taking him out of the medal race. Nile Wilson (GBR) overcame his mistake on parallel bars to get the highest score on high bar 14.266 and on floor 14.666. His total of 84.646 is more than a full point higher than silver medalist Valentin Starikov who counted a low score on high bar but got the highest score of the day: 14.733 on vault (together with Belgian Landuyt). Bevan (GBR) had some problems on floor and parallel bars. His strong vault, pommel horse and rings secured his bronze medal.
Biggest surprise: 4th place for Coradi (SUI) and 5th for Landuyt (BEL). Consistent competition for them. They show a lot of promise.
