The gymnasts are ready for the 24th European Championships in Trampoline/Double Mini-Trampoline and Tumbling for Seniors and Juniors which will be held this week in the Multi-Purpose Hall of Guimarães/POR.
Orientation meeting:
The participating countries have attended the orientation meeting today. The organisers and the new Trampoline technical committee of the UEG took the opportunity to inform them on the organisation and running of the competition as well as on the available infrastructures.
The meeting, led by the UEG director, served to give some last important instructions to the participants.
Opening Ceremony:
The show started with the march-in of the nations participating in these Championships followed by the gymnasts’ and judges’ oath and the speeches of the President of the City Council, Mr Domingos Bragança, the President of the Portuguese Federation of Gymnastics, Mr. João Paulo Rocha and the President of the European Union of Gymnastics, Georges Guelzec.
A tribute was then paid to 4 former big stars of Trampoline by presenting them “20 years later”. 2 of them, Luis Nunes and Irina Karavaeva, are current members of the UEG TRA TC. After this tribute, all gymnasts in the tribunes joined these legends to dance with them.
