Kaleyn, Raffaeli, Atamanov headline Tel Aviv participants’ field

In just 4 weeks, all eyes will be on Tel Aviv as Israel hosts the European Championships in Rhythmic Gymnastics. Riding the success wave of recently-retired Olympic Champion Linoy Ashram, the event promises to deliver fireworks.

The full-on programme includes junior individuals with their qualifications and apparatus finals, senior individuals with qualifications, all-around final and apparatus finals and the senior groups with the all-around competition and apparatus finals.

A grand total of 39 National Federations will be represented by 291 gymnasts: 92 juniors, 86 senior individuals and 113 senior groups gymnasts, for 19 groups.

Many big names will make the trip to Tel Aviv: reigning Vice-European all-around Champion Boryana Kaleyn will be joined by her talented teammates Eva Brezalieva and Stiliana Nikolova, Azerbaijan is sending their dynamic duo Arzu Jalilova and Zohra Aghamirova, Italy counts on their stars Alexandra Agiurgiuculese, Milena Baldassarri and Sofia Raffaeli and Ukraine will be represented by the amazing trio Melania Tur, Polina Karika and Viktoria Onoprienko. Furthermore, we’re excited to welcome Slovenian star Ekaterina Vedeneeva, German talents Margarita Kolosov, Melanie Dargel and Darja Varfolomeev, Romanians Andreea Verdes and Annaliese Dragan, Spain’s Alba Bautista and Polina Berezina, Hungary’s Fanni Pigniczki, Latvia’s Jelizaveta Polstjanaja and many many more!

The hopes of the home nation rest on Daria Atamanov, the 2020 junior European Champion with clubs, and Adi Asya Katz. Both girls have made a great start on the World Cup circuit, at the Palaio Faliro and Baku stages.

In the group competition, hosts Israel will look to beat their nearest rivals Italy, Bulgaria, Ukraine and Azerbaijan. But can Greece, Spain, Estonia, Finland, France, Great Britain, Georgia, Germany, Hungary, Latvia, Norway, Poland or Portugal cause an upset?
