The European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and European Gymnastics have reached a 4-year agreement for exclusive worldwide media rights as well as a services partnership. It prolongs the current agreement, for the 2025-2028 Olympic cycle, and will cover all European Championships in Men's and Women's Artistic Gymnastics and Rhythmic Gymnastics in this period.
Cooperating since 1986, EBU Sport, the EBU’s operational arm who work to keep sports coverage accessible to public service media and audiences across Europe and beyond , will continue to be European Gymnastics' exclusive service provider for worldwide distribution. This agreement also includes the live streaming of all these European Championships, in line with both parties policies to enhance their digital presence, and explore new audiences.
Glen Killane, Executive Director of EBU Sport, said:
Our longstanding partnership with European Gymnastics enters an exciting new chapter with this agreement. Together with our Members, we’re ensuring that Artistic and Rhythmic gymnastics enjoy the widest and most accessible coverage across the globe, through both traditional free-to-air broadcast and our free streaming platform, Eurovision Sport. This collaboration also supports the continued growth and visibility of Artistic and Rhythmic gymnastics across Europe, inspiring new generations of athletes and fans alike.
The President of European Gymnastics, Dr. Farid Gayibov, is delighted with renewal of this contract:
Extending our contract with the EBU marks a significant step in our long-lasting partnership, built on mutual trust and a shared vision for the future of gymnastics in Europe. We are proud to continue this collaboration, which ensures our sport reaches audiences across the continent with the quality and professionalism it deserves.
