Postponement of the 3rd Virtual Extraordinary General Assembly

On Monday 29 June 2026, European Gymnastics scheduled a Virtual Extraordinary General Assembly, following the World Gymnastics decision to allow Russian and Belarusian athletes back in competition without restrictions.

This General Assembly met and agreed to postpone the 3rd Virtual Extraordinary General Assembly to as soon as possible, but no later than 3 August 2026. The reasoning discussed for the decision was the opinion that more time is required to examine the situation in Europe following the decision of World Gymnastics (FIG) of 18 May 2026 to lift all restrictions applicable to Russian and Belarusian athletes and to cancel the ad-hoc rules.
