Preview of the European Championships in Trampoline, Tumbling and Double Mini-Trampoline in Sochi (RUS)

On Thursday, competition will begin at Sochi’s Iceberg Arena. It’s the fourth time Russia will host the Trampoline Europeans after the 1996, 2002 and 2012 editions which were all hosted in Saint Petersburg.

23 Federations are travelling to Sochi to challenge for the continental titles. A total of 213 senior and 258 junior gymnasts are scheduled to compete.

Who to watch?

Hosts Russia nominated a powerful team that includes 2012 Vice-Olympic Champion Dmitri Ushakov, Andrey Yudin, Mikhail Melnik, defending European Champion Yana Pavlova, Vadim Afanasev, Viktoria Danilenko, Mikhail Zalomin, Vasili Makarski, Aleksandr Odintsov, Galina Begim and a whole generation of rising stars. Other big names include 2016 Olympic Champion Uladzislau Hancharou and his Belarussian teammates Aleh Rabtsau and Ivan Litvinovich, Poland’s 2019 European Games Champions in synchronised trampoline Artur Zakrzewski and Lukasz Jaworski, Individual European Games Champion Lea Labrousse and her French teammates Allan Morante and Marine Jurbert, tumbling stars Tachina Peeters (BEL), Mikhail Malkin (AZE) and Rasmus Steffensen (DEN), DMT stars Lina Sjoeberg and Jonas Nordfors (SWE), Georgia’s legend Luba Golovina and Portugal’s Diogo Abreu, Diogo Ganchinho, the defending European Champion, and Beatriz Martins.

Of course, all gymnasts are looking to excel in Sochi after a long period of uncertainty and we wish every single gymnast loads of success.
