Statement on the participation of Russian and Belarusian athletes at #Zagreb2026

The Ministry of Tourism and Sport of the Republic of Croatia, acting as the competent governmental authority, has confirmed the participation conditions for athletes and delegation members of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus at the 2026 European Championships in Artistic Gymnastics in the Croatian capital Zagreb.

In line with the transitional approach approved by the Extraordinary General Assembly on 28 July, following the World Gymnastics decision, the Croatian government decided to apply all measures relating to the non-use of Russian and Belarusian national flags, anthems, national symbols and national identifiers during these European Championships.

European Gymnastics respects the decision of the Croatian government. The details for the implementation will be confirmed with World Gymnastics.
