As the situation with the Covid-19 virus in Europe and the national governmental decisions for policies regarding the holding of events are constantly changing, it is not possible for the European Union of Gymnastics at this moment in time to give a final overview regarding the running of UEG’s 2020 events.
In France, host of the 2020 European Championships in Women’s Artistic Gymnastics, the government has decided to limit the persons in the venue to max. 1000 people until 15 April. As our event has the arrival day on 26 April, the UEG works closely together with the Local Organising Committee to monitor the situation. A final decision will be made by the end of March.
For the time being, we consider the situation in all of our of 2020 host cities as safe to host the events. Furthermore, there currently is no WHO travel warning for Europe. We will however constantly monitor the situation and stay in contact with our Local Organising Committees regarding the overall situation in our host cities and also regarding any governmental decisions related to events in our host countries. If the situation changes in one of our host cities resp. countries, decisions will be taken, and you will be informed.
UEG’s Medical Commission gives the following recommendations of conduct with regard to Covid-19:
