On the closing day of the 2025 European Championships in Acrobatic Gymnastics, the senior gymnasts performed in the remaining 5 finals. For the Mixed Pairs and Women’s Groups that meant the Balance final, while the Women’s Pairs, Men’s Pairs and Men’s Groups competed their Dynamic routines.
Starting off the afternoon on a high note, the mixed pairs delighted the audience, showcasing high difficulty and precise execution, on top of beautiful choreography. Ukrainian pair Ivan Labunets and Yevfrosyniia Kryvytska displayed by far the highest difficult routine, earning 28.950 and the European title. Scoring highest in Artistry, Amy Refaeli and Yonatan Fridman (ISR) who won the All-Around title yesterday, clinched the silver today, ahead of the German pair Diana Lust and Daniel Blintsov.
The Ukrainian anthem was heard a second time as Anhelina Cherniavska and Ruzanna Vecheruk performed a fabulous -and difficult- routine for 27.920. In second place, the British pair Lydia Mulvey and Jessica Flay topped reigning World Champions Silke Macharis and Maysae Bouhouch (BEL) 27.850 to 27.780.
Truly spectacular, Or Abraham, Lior Borodin, Rotem Amihai and Tomer Offir (ISR) showed off their magnificent artistry, combined with the highest execution score of the men’s groups dynamic final, to cruise to victory. Azerbaijan’s Abdulla Al-Mashaykhi, Riad Safarov, Rasul Seyidli and Seymur Jafarov performed the most difficult routine, an effort which saw them rewarded with the silver medal. Louis Alexander, Freddie Turner, Rex Booth and Samuel Ditchburn took the bronze for Great Britain.
It was Portugal’s time to shine in the last finals. First, Miguel Lopes and Goncalo Parreira (POR) held their own in the men’s pairs dynamic, scoring the gold with a score of 27.890, ahead of Azerbaijan’s Daniel Abbasov and Murad Rafiyev and Bulgaria’s Georgi Stoyanov and Panayot Dimitrov.
Finishing of the competition, Alicia Santos, Leonor Carreira and Ema Fernandes (POR) earned a the only hattrick of the senior field as they topped the women’s group balance final. Under loud applause of the enthusiastic crowd, the Portuguese trio held off Ori Dekel, Sivan Gerber and Roni Rotman (ISR). The trio of the Netherlands featuring Amilyah Daal, Esmee De Graaf and Inge Speerstra had a fantastic week here in Luxembourg, showing the audience and the fans worldwide just what they are capable of. And it was rewarded with the bronze medal!
Congratulations to the medallists!
