Former Vice-President André Laurent (FRA) passes away

It is with deep sadness that we learn of the passing of Mr. André Laurent on 2 September at the age of 84 years.

André Laurent first served as member of the UEG Men’s Technical Committee from 1982 to 1989. In 1993, he was elected Vice-President, a role he served until 2001.

A well-known figure in French and international gymnastics, André Laurent, known affectionately as "Chouchou", has made his mark on all levels of the gymnastics world, from his club to the highest international bodies. A man of character, highly appreciated by his colleagues for his good sense of humour and camaraderie, he was also a great leader, bringing his technical know-how and unfailingly assuming his responsibilities in the positions he held.

We lost a servant of national and international gymnastics, a great leader and a friend.
