Great Britain, Sweden and Denmark crowned #TeamGym2022 Champions!

On the final day of these TeamGym Europeans, we had the honour to welcome His Royal Highness Henri Grand Duke of Luxembourg to the magnificent D’Coque Sports Centre.

The senior finals started off with the mixed teams. The tension was palable with Denmark and Great Britain giving each other a run for their money. Performing last on tumble, Great Britain needed 18.650 to surpass the Danes. After a nail-biting wait, the score flashed: 19.600! This is the first ever European TeamGym title won by Great Britain! Top qualifier and defending champion Sweden had some issues but manage to beat Norway for the bronze medal.

Sweden regrouped in the women’s team final, where, as the top qualifier, they cruised to victory posting the highest scores on floor and trampet. Defending Champion Iceland was the best on tumble securing the silver medal easily ahead of Denmark.

In the ever-spectacular men’s team final top qualifier Denmark and defending Champion Sweden went head-to-head in the first two rotations. Denmark sealed the deal on floor, regaining the European title they have won every edition except last year when they didn’t participate because of covid-19. Norway excelled in the last rotation to overtake the Swedish men for the silver.

Congratulations to the medallists!
