Innovative All-Around final format set to debut at #Varna2026

On Saturday 30 May 2026, all eyes will be on Europe’s best Rhythmic gymnasts as they battle for the European All-Around title. The most anticipated part of the week-long European Championships for many fans. This year though, the format is different!

In line with European Gymnastics’ Strategy 2030, the Executive Committee worked on a new, innovative format to make the competition even more attractive, reducing the time needed drastically and allowing for more direct competition between the gymnasts. An improvement, for the gymnasts, and for the fans, in the hall and watching on TV worldwide.

So how does the new concept work?

The best 20 gymnasts from the qualifications advance to the all-around final, plus 1 gymnast from the host country, if not yet qualified. All gymnasts will present 2 routines: hoop and ball. The combined score after these 2 apparatuses will determine the intermediate ranking with the top 10 advancing to the second part of the final: competing with clubs and ribbon in reversed order of the halfway result. The total score of all 4 routines will determine the medallists.

Exciting, right?! We can’t wait to see this in action!
