Kevric, Brugnami star in EYOF apparatus finals

The gymnastics competition at the 17^th European Youth Olympic Festival concluded yesterday in the Slovenian town Maribor. On Friday and Saturday, the eight best gymnasts per apparatus battled for the medals.

Recently crowned all-around Champions Helen Kevric (GER) and Tommaso Brugnami (ITA) added several more medals to their already impressive collection. Starting out with a silver medal on vault, Kevric showed off her remarkable talent, earning gold on the three other events. Brugnami, Italy’s rising star, won floor and vault, in addition to pocketing the silver on rings. There’s definitely a lot more to come from these two!

Armenia’s junior team had a field day with Mamikon Khachatryan winning pommel horse, Hamlet Manukyan posting the highest note on rings and bronze on floor for Robert Gyulumyan. On parallel bars, Bulgaria’s Yoan Ivanov edged Ukraine’s Ivan Rudyi for the title by just a tenth. Hungary’s Zala Samu Zambori delighted the audience on horizontal bar to take home a gold of his own.

Sara Caputo took the title on vault and silver on bars, while Vanesa Masova (CZE) earned the bronze on both.
