Olympic participating nations in Trampoline known

As the World Cup in Cottbus (GER) concluded, so did the race for Olympic qualifying points.

Starting in July 2023, gymnasts could earn points at the World Cup events in Coimbra (POR), Palm Beach (USA), Varna (BUL), Baku (AZE), and Cottbus (GER). The sum of each gymnast’s two highest rankings points totals from these World Cups determined their final Olympic qualification points total.

At last year’s World Championships in Birmingham (GBR), China, Austria, Japan, Great Britain and Portugal each earned one ticket in the men’s competition, while China, Brazil, Canada, USA and Great Britain could sent one female trampolinist.

After the World Cup series, the men’s field was extended with another Chinese gymnast, defending Olympic Champion Ivan Litvinovich as an Individual Neutral Athlete, and one gymnast each from the following countries: New Zealand, France, Brazil, USA, Spain, Colombia, Kazakhstan and Germany.

In the women’s competition, both China and Great Britain managed to secure a second ticket, the maximum number possible. They’ll be joined by a trampolinist each from Japan, France, New Zealand, Spain, Azerbaijan and Georgia. Two Neutral Athletes also earned their entry ticket.

Congratulations to all athletes and nations concerned! It’s a pleasure to see nations like Azerbaijan and Spain earning historic Olympic berths.

In Trampoline, all Olympic quotas are non-nominative: National Federations can decided who actually goes to the Games. The last two Olympic quota places will be announced following the African Championships in Tunisia on 10 and 11 May. There, the African country whose male or female gymnast will compete at the Games will be determined. The remaining place for the other gender will be allocated based on the World Cup qualifying ranking list.
