On the final day of the 30th European Championships in Trampoline, Double Mini-Trampoline and Tumbling, all individual and synchro finals filled an exciting programme.
With 19 sets of medal at stake over the course of the day at Portimao Arena, there was plenty of action to enjoy. The home crowd went absolutely crazy for Vasco Peso on Tumbling. The Portuguese superstar went for broke in the super final, easily holding off Azerbaijan’s Tofiq Aliyev and defending Champion Magnus Lindholmer (DEN) for a well-deserved European title. Stanislau Yaskevich paired up with Ivan Melnikau for the men’s synchro title, while Zlata Miniakhmetava and Katsiaryna Yarshova topped the women’s ranking. Great Britain’s Oko Aikeremiokha launched himself onto the Double Mini-Trampoline like a rocket, scoring over 30 points for an incredible pass, and the gold medal. Alena Kalashnikova held off Molly Mckenna (GBR) by three tenths in women’s DMT while the tumbling track saw World bronze medallist Lani Spiessens and defending Champion Alexandra Efraimoglou (GRE) go head-to-head in a thrilling super final. With 25.100, Spiessens clinched the European crown for Belgium. Already twice Olympic Champion, but never before Individual European Champion, Ivan Litvinovich made a statement here in Portimao, showing off his signature excellence to beat Portugal’s Gabriel Albuquerque for the top honours, with Anzhela Bladtseva winning the women’s title.
A new addition this year … the U21 age category! Neutral athletes Fedor Sorokin and Viktoryia Asiayuk wrote their names in the history books as the first ever Trampoline U21 European Champions, while Georgian pair Maia Bochoridze and Tsotne Chkhaidze clinched the maiden U21 Mixed Pair Synchro title.
Congratulations to the medallists!
