The President's Note N° 11 - November 2025

Dear Gymnastics community

Looking back on a month filled with important meetings, both on the international and continental stage, I want to highlight the importance of making strategic choices. Having a long-term plan, build on a solid vision, will ensure the continued growth and development of the sport we all love so much.

The European Gymnastics Executive Committee awarded the 2027 European Youth Championships & European Championships in Acrobatic Gymnastics and the 2027 European U15 and Junior Championships & European Championships in Aerobic Gymnastics to the Italian town of Pesaro. We also finalised the Technical Regulations 2026 / 2027 and updated the regulations for the Gymnastics for All events EUROGYM, European Gym for Life Challenge and Golden Age Gym Festival.

Following our EC meeting, we invited all our member federations to Zurich (SUI) for a members forum on 13 and 14 October. I’m pleased to see that 35 European Gymnastics federations joined us on site where we presented an updated proposal for a governance restructure, based on detailed feedback received in the previous federations workshop held in March. On the second day of the members forum key principles for a European Gymnastics commercial strategy as well as the events strategy were presented and discussed. I appreciate the help of the internationally renowned agency Two Circles as we further develop our strategy and I warmly thank all participants for their active participation and valuable feedback. This input is essential for us to advance with the implementation of these projects and will offer a solid framework to the next Executive Committee for the 2026 – 2029 cycle.

As we’re gearing up to the upcoming elections, to be held on Saturday 29 November in the Czech capital Prague, I urge all federations to actively participate in the discussions, provide feedback, and vote for the best candidates for the roles. I want to thank all candidates for dedicating their time and expertise and wish them the best of luck!

In Paris (FRA), I was elected as Chairman of the tenth session of the Conference of Parties to the International Convention against Doping in Sport during the meeting held at the UNESCO Headquarters. With participating countries from all over the globe and over 100 presenters, I gained extra experience through this additional role and it added to the presence of gymnastics on a worldwide stage.

Following the Artistic World Championships in Jakarta (INA) which saw our athletes shine, November is filled with international events like the Trampoline World Championships in Pamplona (ESP) and the junior Artistic Worlds in Manila (PHI). For European Gymnastics, it means hosting the last 2 competitions of 2025!

From Sunday onwards, Europe’s best Aerobics gymnasts will enjoy their time in the spotlight as they battle for continental glory in Azerbaijan, more precisely in Ganja’s Sports Palace. First up, the new U15 category and the juniors will compete from 9 to 11 November, immediately followed by the seniors from 14 to 16 November. I wholeheartedly wish all participants, coaches and judges the best possible experience! And for the fans … join us in Ganja or show your support by watching from home on gymtv.online!
