On Thursday, the first European Cup in Rhythmic Gymnastics of this year will kick off in the Azerbaijani capital Baku. A total of 25 nations will be represented by 73 senior and 102 junior gymnasts.

Who to watch?
We’re looking forward to seeing the impressive skills of Olympic medallist Sofia Raffaeli and her Italian teammate Tara Dragas, Ukraine’s Taisiia Onofriichuk and Polina Karika, Israel’s Daniela Munits and Lian Rona, Hungary’s Fanni Pigniczki and Hanna Panna Wiesner, Romania’s former junior stand-out Amalia Lica, Bulgaria’s Dara Malinova and many others. The host nation Azerbaijan will be represented by Zahra Jafarova and Govhar Ibrahimova!
In the senior group competition Azerbaijan will take on 2020 Olympic Champions Bulgaria, Estonia, Georgia, 2024 Olympic bronze medallists Italy and Ukraine in an exciting battle.
For senior individuals and groups, exciting Cross Battles will determine the All-Around medallists. In one-on-one battles, the gymnasts advance through several stages to earn the top spot. This comes with substantial prize money: the winner of the individual Cross Battles gets € 6000, while the silver medallist earns € 4000 and the bronze medallist €2500. The winning group will receive € 10000. The silver medallists will get € 6000 and the bronze medallists € 4000.
