Preview of the 2025 European Cup in Rhythmic Gymnastics – 15 to 18 May 2025 – Burgas (BUL)

On Thursday, the second European Cup in Rhythmic Gymnastics of this year will kick off in the Bulgarian seaside resort Burgas. A total of 12 nations will be represented by 54 senior and 64 junior gymnasts.

Who to watch?

The host nation Bulgaria counts on inaugural European Cup winner and reigning European All-Around Champion Stiliana Nikolova who will be joined by teammate Dara Stoyanova. Their main challenge will come from Israel’s Alona Tal Franco and Meital Maayan Sumkin, Romania’s Amalia Lica, Cypriot Vera Tugolukova, France’s Lily Ramonatxo, Azerbaijan’s Zahra Jafarova and Govhar Ibrahimova, and many others!

In the senior group competition the host nation and 2020 Olympic Champions Bulgaria will take on Azerbaijan, Georgia, Hungary, 2024 Vice-Olympic Champions Israel and Serbia.

For senior individuals and groups, exciting Cross Battles will determine the All-Around medallists. In one-on-one battles, the gymnasts advance through several stages to earn the top spot. This comes with substantial prize money: the winner of the individual Cross Battles gets € 6000, while the silver medallist earns € 4000 and the bronze medallist €2500. The winning group will receive € 10000. The silver medallists will get € 6000 and the bronze medallists € 4000.
