Mid-February, some of the world’s best gymnasts debuted their competition routines at the first World Cup stage in Baku (AZE). Victory went to the reigning Olympic champions, Uladzislau Hancharou (BLR) and Rosanna MacLennan (CAN), a promising start to the season. The next World Cup competition will be held in Minsk (BLR) and will serve as the test event for the European Games.
UEG organises a practical Double Mini-Trampoline workshop in Hamburg (GER) mid-May.
At the European Games, 24 female and 24 male trampoline gymnasts will compete in the individual and synchronised competitions. The host nation aims for glory with Olympic Champion Hancharou and his teammate Aleh Rabtsau and their female compatriots Hanna Hancharova and Mariya Makharynska. They will face tough competition though from gymnasts representing, amongst others, Russia, Great Britain and France.
The UEG’s annual training camp will be held from 21 to 27 July in Sangalhos close to Anadia in Portugal. Tumbling sensation Kristof Willerton (GBR) will be on hand to expertly guide Europe’s next generation of stars. Don’t miss this fantastic opportunity!
The year closes in Tokyo (JPN) where the World Championships and World Age Group competitions will take place. There the top 8 gymnasts in individual trampoline earn a ticket to the 2020 Olympic Games.
