Rimini 2024 junior stars ready to shine again at EYOF

In 10 days, all eyes will be on the 2025 edition of the European Youth Olympic Festival (EYOF)! This biennale event is mainly taking place in Skopje (MKD) from 20 to 26 July, while Artistic Gymnastics found its home in the experienced hands of the Croatian team in Osijek. Famed for its introduction of junior athletes into the fascinating world of multi-sports event, EYOF is seen as the stepping stone for many world-renowned gymnasts. Previous winners include stars like Illia Kovtun (UKR), Helen Kevric (GER), Vanessa Ferrari (ITA), Viktoria Listunova, Viktoria Komova and David Belyavskiy (RUS), Courtney Tulloch & Brinn Bevan (GBR) and Larisa Iordache (ROU).

A grand total of 178 gymnasts, 79 boys and 99 girls, will represent 39 national federations.

Several of last year’s junior stars of Rimini made it onto the roster. France is sending their A-team of Elena Colas, Maiana Prat and Lola Chassat, all members of the victorious junior European team last year. Individually, they also earned their accolades: Colas is the reigning junior all-around and uneven bars Champion plus the bronze medallist on vault. Prat clinched the bronze medal in the all-around and is the title holder on beam; while Chassat grabbed the bronze on bars.

Uzair Chowdhury, reigning junior European Champion on parallel bars, Evan McPhillips and Fawzi Zakaine Radell were all part of the victorious British junior squad in Rimini, and have the expertise to follow in the footsteps of Alex Niscoveanu, Jonas Rushworth and Sol Scott who won the team title at the 2023 edition of EYOF.
