The Shooting star award goes to … Ibrahim Colak (TUR)!

After the team final of the 34^th European Championships in Men’s Artistic Gymnastics, held in Mersin (TUR), Kamran Ramazanov, CEO of our global partner SmartScoring presented the SmartScoring Shooting star award to Turkish star Ibrahim Colak.

Started in 2018, this award aims to put a gymnast with an exceptional story in the spotlight, someone who is an inspiration for the future generation of gymnasts and the general public alike.

Colak, who turns 25 next month, won his country’s first medal at the 2013 Mediterranean Games, also held in Mersin, a silver on rings. Since then, he’s been making a name for himself, and Turkish gymnastics, at all levels, winning gold at the 2018 Mediterranean Games and silver at the 2018 Europeans. Last year, he became the first Turkish World Champion!

Colak is a well-respected member of the gymnastics community, leading by example for aspiring gymnasts all around the world and working as a star ambassador for his discipline with Turkish media and sponsors.
