At the conclusion of 11th Aerobic Gymnastics European Championships in Baku, Kamran Ramazanov of our global partner SmartScoring presented the SmartScoring Shooting star award to Daniel Bali (HUN) and Michela Castoldi (ITA).
Started in 2018, this award aims to put a gymnast with an exceptional story in the spotlight, someone who is an inspiration for the future generation of gymnasts and the general public alike.
Hungary’s Daniel Bali is known as one of the most talented and hard-working Aerobics gymnasts. Having started at the age of 4 because he was such an active child, Bali collected medal after medal including the first European Games title with the Hungarian group but the individual gold eluded him at major international events. At the 2017 Europeans in Ancona, Bali clinched the gold medal in the individual men’s final, in addition to the silver with mixed pairs and bronze with the group. He continues to be an example to his colleagues and has no plans to hang up his gym shoes yet.
Having competed internationally for close to a decade, Italy’s Michela Castoldi experienced great success in her career, highlighted by two consecutive World titles with partner Davide Donati. However, she had to overcome many personal setbacks and is known for her dedication and headstrong character. She’s an inspiration for her teammates and young aerobics gymnasts in and outside of her native Italy.
