Dear TeamGym community
After months of focused work, the TeamGym Technical Committee (TC) finalised the new TeamGym Code of Points for 2025–2028 and prepared for the recent brevet courses.
Two successful brevet courses were held in Vienna (AUT) and Inverclyde (GBR), in mid-June and early July. Each of the two courses consisted of two days of online sessions, followed by three days of face-to-face training and exam. As a result, nearly 60 judges now hold the European Gymnastics TeamGym Brevet (Categories 1 to 3). A third brevet course is scheduled for early 2026, so please stay tuned for the dates, which will be announced in September.
To keep you informed about the new Code of Points, we are hosting free webinars on 17 and 18 August to introduce the new rules to coaches. You are welcome to attend any of these webinars. The registration links are provided below.
This summer has been vibrant as TeamGym competitions and both national and international training camps are in full swing. In early September, the TeamGym TC will meet with the European apparatus suppliers to discuss current developments in the sport and explore future perspectives for TeamGym apparatus, innovation and standards.
November promises to be a major competition month with both the biennial Nordic TeamGym Championships for seniors, to be held on 7–9 November, and the Mid-European Championships for juniors and seniors, taking place from 12 to 16 November. These prestigious events will feature top club teams from across Europe, all competing under the new Code of Points. Preliminary registrations indicate an increasing number of teams at the Mid-European Championships compared to the inaugural event in 2023. It will most likely also feature gymnasts from the United States of America.
Further information about these events is available through the local hosts in Finland and Italy:
Nordic TeamGym Championships in Espoo (FIN)
Mid-European Championships in Lignano Sabbiadoro (ITA), with participation from US teams!
Espoo is also the host city for the 2026 TeamGym European Championships.
This newsletter will mainly introduce you to the new Code of Points.
The new TeamGym Code of Points was published in early April and will be valid from 2025 to 2028. The development of the new Code of Points began in early 2024, following feedback gathered during technical discussions at the International TeamGym Conference in Malmö (SWE). Throughout 2024, an evaluation of the European Championships in Baku was conducted, and additional input was collected from various subject matter experts, including federations, coaches, gymnasts and judges.
The TeamGym TC extends a warm thank you to all federations, judges, coaches and gymnasts who provided feedback and support on the new Code of Points.
Below is a list of the key changes compared to the previous Code of Points:
