The competition continues with the qualification of the seniors on Trampoline for the Team finals of tonight and after these qualifications we will also know who will be among the 8 finalists on Sunday (2 gymnasts authorised by nation).
In boys’ category, the 1st group sets the bar high and Russia is clearly dominating securing all 4 top qualifying ranks. The big favourite of these Championships, the Olympic vice-champion and European title defender Dmitry Ushakov clearly prevails with a total score of 109.190. His compatriots Mikahil Melnik, Andrey Yudin and Sergei Azarian (3rd at the 2013 WCh) occupy the head of the ranking with the 2nd, 3rd and 4th ranks and the scores of 107.475, 107.055 and 106.660 respectively. Only Ushakov and Melnik thus get a ticket to tomorrow’s final.
They manage to keep their 4 top spots right to the end!
The Belarusian Uldzislau Hancharou, 5th of the Juniors ECh in 2012, impressed the crowd and takes the 5th provisional position with a score of 106.345. Deception on the other hand for his teammate Nikolai Kazak who finishes 15th.
In the girls’ category, the ranking is known only little by little after the passage of the different groups. Beautiful performance of the German Leonie Adam in the 1st group who sums up a nice 97.460 for her two passages thus securing a ticket to tomorrow’s final. She is outscored from the second group on by Hanna Harchonak (BLR) who presented a great routine worth 98.710 and the 3rd provisional rank.
In the 3rd group, we witness a true festival put up by the British obtaining the highest score of these qualifications for the performance of Katherine Driscoll: 100.810. She jumps to the top of the preliminary ranking while her teammate Bryony Page manages as well to earn a ticket to the finals with her routine worth 98.615. Nice routine presented as well by Pamela Clark (96.410).
In the 4th group, the Ukrainian Maryna Kyiko offers a great performance awarded with 97.610 points and the 6th provisional rank. The 96.115 points earned by the French Marine Jurbert place her on the 10th rank allowing her nevertheless to continue to the finals. All in all some beautiful exercises in this last group bringing some changes to the final top ranking with the Russians Irina Kundius (100-650 and 2nd place) and Yana Pavlova (98.675 and 4th place) both qualifying for the finals.
Some disappointing results delivered by the favourites of these qualifications such as the Belarusian Tatsiana Piatrenia who arrived 5th at the London OG (and 1st European in the ranking), the Georgian Luba Golovina (5th of the ECh 2012 – 7th of London OG), the British Laura Gallagher (3rd of the ECh 2012) and the Russian Victoria Voronina (8th at the London OG and current holder of the European Vice Champion title).
